The Origami Takeover

by JulieD

Origami

Origami

Since we started the skill practice addition to our school day, origami creations have been appearing regularly.

I don't know what to do with them as they are starting to take over my desk but I am impressed at how enthusiastically all three of my children work at creating new projects.

Origami, has been a good skill for them. It engages their creativity but provides structure, diversity and helps them to follow directions. It is something I do not teach and so they have had to learn it on their own.

And I love it when they take the initiative to learn something on their own.

Today I saw directions for a few simple origami projects online. One was for a cat and another was a dog. These two were very simple and I think even a young school age child could probably manage them.

Hope you enjoy the picture and if you get a chance maybe introduce this art technique to your children. From what I've seen, I think they might enjoy it.
