November 2008, Illinois Fairs, Festivals, Parades, and Shows

Just found out about some events that will be coming up in Illinois in November. Thought I would share them here.

Nov. 1, 2008 30th Annual Galena Halloween Parade

Nov. 1, Fall Eagle Fest at the convention center in Galena 9-3p.m. Birds of Prey show, nature photography art show and displays

Nov. 1-2, 2008 31st Annual Heritage Festival at Southeastern College in Harrisburg. Saturday 9-4pm. Sunday 10-4
Crafts, food, puppets (at 11 and 1 on Sat.)

Nov. 7-9 Antique Spectacular Fall Show 2008 Antiques for everyone. $6 admission.

Nov. 8, Altrusa Bazaar and Craft Show 100+ booths

Nov. 9, Birds of Prey Program in Bloomington at the Miller Park Zoo at 1p.m. Free with zoo admission.

Nov. 15-16 Persimmon Party at the Christian County Historical Museu in Taylorville. Taste for free foods made with persimmons.


Nov.20-22 Pope County Deer Festival in downtown Golconda

Nov. 19-1/09 Sam Fink's The Gettysburg Address at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield. Original art

Nov. 21-1/1/09 Victorian Splendor Light Festival at Forest Park in Shelbyville. Drive-thru display.

Nov. 22-23 Festival of Arts and Crafts in St. Charles.

Nov. 27-1/1/09 Avenue of Lights Moorman/Wavering Park in Quincy
2 miles of animated displays

Nov. 28 Old-Fashioned Christmas in downtown Effingham...buggy rides, hot chocolate and photos with Santa.
