Fort Dickerson Living History

by JulieD

This coming weekend at Fort Dickerson Park is a free living Civil War History event.

Included in the event are a Civil War medical and surgical exhibit, battle re-enactments, canon firings and living history campsites.

Friday is school day...with educational demonstrations.

This Fort Dickerson Living History event is in Knoxville on Nov 8-9, 2008 and is sponsored by Knoxville Civil War Roundtable.

This year is a celebration of the 145th anniversary of the Siege of Knoxville.

This sounds like another wonderful event to help our children and ourselves to experience history beyond the books.

Easy and fun educational experiences don't happen often so hopefully if you are near Knoxville this weekend you will take the opportunity to visit.

Also, if you get a chance, I'd love to hear more about this event..so please consider coming back here and sharing a story or two about your visit.

Thanks for visiting.
